INTRODUCTION

AS9145 Requirements for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) standardizes the requirements for Product Development across Aerospace and Defense Industries. APQP provides an integrated multifunctional approach to ensure effective collaboration and a structured phased/gated process is applied to ensure that all activities are completed on-time and on quality.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

This workshop is designed to provide participants with the knowledge of the AS9145 principles and requirements through a hands-on approach to APQP management of phases as well as an understanding of PPAP deliverables of FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, MSA, Initial process studies, First Article and Part Submission Warrant.

The 2-day training workshop is taught by seasoned aerospace industry professionals that covers the requirements of each APQP phase and integration of core tools for PPAP

INSTRUCTOR 

Ed McFayden has over 20 years of manufacturing experience in the automotive industry and 8 years in R&D. Throughout his quality career he has headed up planning, development and implementation of ISO9001, ISO14001, QS9000, TS16949, IATF16949, AS9100 and VDA Quality Management Systems for single and multi-facility organizations.

He has held key leadership and management positions including Project Manager, Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, Safety Chairman, Operations Manager and Corporate Quality Manager. Along with his manufacturing and R&D experience, Ed is a U.S. ARMY/Reserve Veteran with over 18 years of direct experience in project management, leading, managing and training large numbers of personnel as well as managing multiple projects. While serving as an Engineer Officer his assignments included Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Company Commander, Brigade Engineer and Officer Candidate School Instructor/Trainer. He also received extensive training in Leadership, Operations, Project Management and Strategic Planning.
 
Ed is an Exemplar Global Certified ISO9001:2015/IATF16949:2016 and Certified AS9100D:2016 Lead Auditor, ASQ Quality Auditor and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Ed holds the recognition of Quality Practitioner from the Chartered Quality Institute of London. Ed holds an A.S. in Business Management from Northern Essex Community College, Certificates in Leadership and Management as well as Human Resources Management from the University of New Hampshire and is a graduate of the U.S. ARMY Engineer School. Ed is currently working on a B.S. in Quality Systems Management from New England College of Business.
